On Monday, July 21st Marianne had open heart surgery to replace/repair old leaky heart valves. Her recovery is going well and she came home one week after surgery. In a couple of months her heart and system will operate better than they have in recent years.
Her work load at Fayette will be minimized for the next months. John will hold the helm of the school and her four daughters are organizing to support Marianne and her offices at school.
The whole family has bee strengthened by this adventure and we are looking forward to her continuing recovery and an excellent school year. Thoughts and prayers are always welcome.

For years John has sewn colorful aprons and given them as gifts to family, friends, and parents in the school. He is now selling them at the Manzanita CO-OP on the Alameda. While you are shopping there buy one and add a bit of brightness to your apron collection or as a gift. You will be supporting two fine local organizations, Manzanita and Fayette. Tell friends. Thank you.

After the heavy rains at the end of November, a roofing contractor determined that the Studio and Maxie Hall, the Bigs building, needed to be re-roofed and that Annie Hall required patching. We are delaying the work until Winter Break so that no children will be around breathing the fumes.
The cost will be $6000 which will come out of the modest school account. Anyone wishing to contribute to this project need only write a check for whatever amount, large or small.

Welcome to the Fayette Street Academy website. The pictures sprinkled through the site auto-rotate through a set of over one hundred images taken around the school during the past few years. Every time you return to the site, new pictures will tell a bit more of the Fayette story.
